Frequently Asked Questions
What is a
Small Church
service like?
The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The venue is usually the home of a missionary or lay-leader, and each Small Church is around 10 people. We sing worship songs together and then have a Bible study. We place a high value on reading God's Word, the Bible, together and applying what we learn together to our lives. The meeting time differs for each church but is around two hours. As an example, Waseda Tsurumakicho Small Church follows this kind of group plan for our gathering.
We also partake in communion once a month, in which we give thanks for God's saving grace expressed in the cross of Jesus Christ.
In addition to weekly worship and fellowship in the small churches, we currently have a joint service called Celebration, which is a gathering of the four small churches about once every two months. Celebration includes a sermon and also a kids Bible lesson and is an opportunity to fellowship with others in the Small Church Network.
Each church also collects a voluntary offering.
What should

Of course! Anyone of any background is welcome to join us. Those who would just like to come and observe once are also welcome.
